Prerequisites
Before you start, you need:- A formcarry account. Sign up is free.
- A form in the dashboard. Its endpoint is on the form’s Setup page. The examples use
https://formcarry.com/s/AbC123xyz; put yours in its place.
1. Create an automation
In your site’s Wix dashboard, go to Automations, click + Create Automation, then Start from Scratch. Click the title to name it.2. Pick the trigger
Select Form submitted under Wix Forms. The blue icon is the trigger for new Wix Forms, the red one for old forms. Choose Specific and pick your form, or Any for every form on the site. Leave Trigger once per person off rather than on, otherwise a visitor’s second submission never reaches formcarry.3. Add the HTTP request
Click the Add Step icon, click Action and select Send HTTP request. Paste the endpoint into Webhook URL:4. Map the fields
Under Body params, choose Customize structure. For each field, click + Add New Item, type the name formcarry stores in Key, choose the form field in Value, and click Add. For a contact form:
The submission arrives with
name, email and message. Entire payload sends all data from the trigger instead; Preview Structure shows what that is.
5. Activate it
Click Activate rather than Save, otherwise the automation stays a draft and sends nothing. An automation that is turned off sends no requests either.Field names
The Key you type for each item is the field name formcarry stores the value under. Wix forces no names when you map the fields yourself. Give the visitor’s address the keyemail rather than contact or your address, otherwise replying to a notification goes nowhere and the auto response is not sent. Under email it is the reply to address of the notification email and the recipient of the auto response.
After the visitor submits
The visitor sees what the Wix form shows: the Submission message, or the external URL chosen under When a visitor submits a form, both in the submit button’s Field Settings. Formcarry’s thank you page and redirect never appear because the request comes from Wix Automations after the visitor has submitted, not from the visitor’s browser.Spam blocker
Wix’s own protection runs on the Wix form, under Spam filter settings in the form’s Settings: Only reCAPTCHA, Basic and reCAPTCHA or Advanced and reCAPTCHA. Nothing from it reaches formcarry. Leave formcarry’s spam blocker off for this form rather than adding a secret key under Form Security, otherwise every submission is refused, with403 for reCAPTCHA or 400 for hCaptcha and Turnstile, because the token has to come from the visitor’s browser and none does.
Test it
Submit the form once on your published site. The submission is on the form’s page in the dashboard, and the notification email arrives at your account’s address. Wait 15 seconds before a second test, otherwise it gets a429.
